How to use the Hold Calculator
The hold calculator is used to calculator the hold percentage of a standard 2 way sports betting market. This is sometimes referred to as the house edge, vig or juice.
Simply enter the odds for each outcome into the Outcome One Odds field and the Outcome Two Odds field similar to the image below.
Once you have entered the odds for each outcome. Subsequently, The hold percentage for the market will be displayed in the Hold Percentage field below the odds fields.
This represent how far the odds offered by the sportsbook(s) is from the true odds of 100%. As a result the lower the percentage the better for us.
In addition, if the hold percentage is ever negative, then this means that the odds are in our favor rather than the sportsbooks favor and creates an arbitrage opportunity.
