However, This is one area I feel dark horse are lacking. There guides are quite brief and require a prior knowledge of sports betting.
Additionally, There are no video guides or tutorials if you’re a visual learner.
There isn’t really a step by step lesson plan to guide you through the process of start matched betting as a beginner. You kind of have to just search through and read the guides until you feel comfortable to start your first offer.

The Promo Dashboard
Although Dark Horse Odds may not be as beginner friendly. Once you get the ropes of matched betting their service is a powerful daily profit generator for any bettor.
One of the main reasons you would want to invest in their services is the daily promo dashboard. It’s here that they list every promotion available daily at each sportsbook and each state.
If you did this yourself it would take at least a solid hour of logging in and out of each sportsbook per day. In that time you could make an extra $50-$100 doing promos so Dark Horse Odds really pays for it’s self from day one.
Although, I would prefer if they provided a write up of each offers terms and conditions along with a written a guide for each offer covering the expected value, difficulty and other key information about each offer.
Much like in the style of other matched betting services in the USA such as ProfitDuel or NinjaBet
You can set the promo dashboard to filter all the promos for your state along with removing any sportsbook you have not currently signed up to or have been restricted at using the filters button in the top left hand side.
Once you have found a promotion to take advantage of you can use the Bet Finders software to find a sports market to bet on.
This is where Dark Horse Odds really comes into it’s own.
Bet Finders Software
One of the core concepts of matched betting is to finding odds match between two sportsbook. We do this for both qualifying bets and free bets.
Qualifier Bet Finder
Firstly, We want to find a sports game where the odds are close to equal and opposite between two sportsbook to create a low hold bet.
For example if Team A has odds of +120 we want to find a sportsbook with odds on Team B equal to or close to -120.
We can use the Qualifying Bet Finder to find these matches quickly
If we need to place a qualifying bet with Draftkings we can quickly find a low hold match like the tennis match below.
Once we have found a match then the betslip to the right hand side of the software will show how much we need to place at each sportsbook.
By doing this we cover both potential outcomes and hedge our bet with Draftkings so we don’t win or loses any significant money.
In most matched betting promotions we would now get rewarded with a free bet in which we can convert to a profit using the Free Bet Finder.
Free Bet Finder
Similar to the Qualifying Bet Finder the Free Bet Finder will find matches between sportsbook that we can place bets on.
However, this time were not just looking for low hold bets. We also have to target higher odds underdog bets to place the free bet on.
Betting at higher odds increases the free bet conversion rate which is the percentage of the free bet we convert to real cash.
As a result, the Free Bet Finder optimizes for increasing the free bet conversion rate.
The best matches with the highest conversion rate are displayed at the top of the table.
Just like the Qualifier Bet Finder the bet slip to the right of the table displays how much we need to bet on both outcome at each sportsbook.
All the ‘Bet Finder’ tools follow a similar structure. I’m a big fan of the simple user experience, many other matched betting services you need to constantly jump between odds matching software and bet calculators.
Arbitrage Bet Finder
An arbitrage bet is when the odds on offer at two sportsbook are so different that the house edge or vig percentage turns in the customers favor.

These events don’t happen very often and are adjust quickly by the sportsbooks traders.
This is where you need to use an Arbitrage Bet Finder.
The software works just like the Qualifer Bet Finder.
Although, Dark Horse has a small disclaimer at the top of the software. I’m going to have to put them on blast in this Dark Horse Odds review!
One of the first things I learnt in my matched betting careers was NEVER take arbs on healthy betting accounts. This is the fastest way for your sportsbook accounts to get limited and restricted.
That couple hundred dollars of arb profit is going to cost you thousands maybe tens of thousands of dollars in long term promo profit.
Once your promo eligibility has been removed go to town, but until then steer clear.
In my opinion Dark Horse needs to make this clearer.
Profit Boost Finder
Profit boosts are another popular promotion offered by sportsbooks.
They allow customers to ‘Boost‘ the odds or winnings of any bet offered at a sportsbook.
This creates an artificial arbitrage bet similar to what we discussed previously.
In contrast these are much safer than real arbitrage bets.
When we first open the Profit Boost Bet Finder we need to enter to terms of the profit boost.
You can do this at the top of the software just below where we select a sportsbook.
Once the terms are entered and a sportsbook selected the best match will display like the other bet finders.
The Odds Table
Another handy tool that Dark Horse Odds provides is the Odds Table.
The Odds Table let’s you manually compare odds between sportsbooks.
You can set the table to display by sport and by market type such as Spread or Total Goals,
This can be useful when trying to find bets on specific market within a game or finding player props.
Another use case for the odds table is looking for middles bets in the spread and total goals market.
I’m a bit surprise they don’t already have a tool for this strategy but I’m sure it’s in the works.
Discord Community
The Dark Horse Discord server is a busy community of matched bettors. At any one time there is alway +300 members online and active to discuss offers strategy’s and to give a second opinion.
You can contact Dark Horse staff and provide feedback or suggestions to improve the service.
Although there is no casino section on the Dark Horse website. There is a casino section in the discord server for members to share positive ev casino offers.
DarkHorseOdds Review: Price
The final aspect we need to look at in this Dark Horse Odds review is the cost of the Service.
The standard monthly membership subscription cost is $39.00.
However, Dark Horse offer a 2-day free trial to check out the members area yourself and get stuck into some offers. Along with a $30 discount for you first month.
Meaning you only pay $9 for your first month
Currently there is not an annual subscription price for the service.
All in all I think the service is priced incredibly reasonably.
Once you consider the time savings made by using their software. The monthly subscription should pay for itself after one day of use each month.
